Beard Simulator 2015 sounds like it should probably be a thing, but until that day comes we’ll have to make do with this sprawling open-world fantasy RPG. OK, so we won’t be sailing down this particular Rivia just for the face plumage, but the news that Geralt’s chin scuff will grow over time as you play is just another indication of how much detail is being thrust into the world of The Witcher 3. Don’t worry if the haggard look isn’t quite your thing, though, as you’ll be able to personalise your Geralt with the free Beard and Hairstyle DLC pack.
Not every idea thought up by the brains at Polish studio CD Projekt Red has survived until the final game, though. At one point the team had built a prototype of sword fighting on ice. We’re not even kidding. The idea was for Geralt to slice and dice (on said ice) at some point during the latter portion of the game. Eventually though, the feature was cut as it was deemed “quite wonky.”
